ALTON, HAMPSHIRE – April 25, 2025
Detectives investigating the deaths of Stan Rickman, 91, and Roma Rickman, 88, in a house fire in Alton have made two further arrests.
Emergency services were called to a house in Heron Close, Alton, at around 4am on Monday, April 14, following reports of a fire. Despite the efforts of police and firefighters, both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed the arrest of:
A 15-year-old boy from Bordon, and
A 15-year-old boy from Alton
Both have been arrested on suspicion of murder and released on police bail with conditions.
This follows the earlier arrest of a 16-year-old boy from Alton, also on suspicion of murder. He remains on police bail with conditions as enquiries continue
Ongoing Appeal for Information
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Danielle Daltrey said:
“Investigating this incident remains a top priority and we are continuing our work to establish the circumstances.”
Police continue to appeal for information from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious between midnight and 5am on April 14 in the Heron Close area. Officers are particularly interested in CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage that may show suspicious activity.
